The Information Centre of the Management Body of Pamvotis Lake is located in the Island of Ioannina and aspires to become a modern media attraction for the environment of Pamvotis Lake and to contribute in the protection and promotion of the Protected Area.
The exhibits, the appropriate audiovisual equipment and the special designed environment all allow to the visitor and the local residents to get informed and to enjoy their visit.
It is addressed to the local community, tourists, teachers and students at all levels, in organized groups of visitors and individual visitors as well and entrepreneurs engaged in the development of alternative forms of tourism.
The purpose of the museum's design was the harmonious integration of the traditional building in the surrounding landscape and the creation of an appropriate environment to meet the needs of visitors. The design proposal takes into account the ecology of the area and demonstrates respect for its character. Natural materials for the two parts of the surrounding area were selected, such as gravel, stone, wood, rocks, plants, in order to create a friendly and relaxing environment to the user and to give a sense of peace and tranquility.
