The beautiful traditional building, in which the Information Centre is located, is composed of two (2) levels.
The reception and exhibition are located on the ground floor, as well as a room dedicated to fishing and generally to the traditional activities of the Island’s inhabitants. Specifically, in this room you will find fishing gears, that are traditional and have built by fishermen over the last 70 years, loom, warmer and more.
On the first floor, the exhibition on the natural environment of the lake is found.
More specifically, the first exhibit section has lots of information for the lake Pamvotis - its environment and the area in which lies the long geological history.
Wearing headphones over the two lecterns, visitors can hear interesting stories of various myths, legends and old stories about the natural environment of the lake and the surrounding area.
Furthermore, there are transparent lecterns, each gives us information about the main plants of the lake, the fish that live there and the various species of birds, amphibians and mammals.
The next section informs the visitors about the impact of human factors on the lake and on the ecosystem. The end of the exhibition refers to the timeless and precious value of the lake, that served as refuge and natural crossroads for people and animals from prehistoric times until today.
Just before the exit, there is a large screen, in which is displayed an extremely interesting and short slideshow on Pamvotis, as well as a touch screen, in which one can discover the suggested walking routes in the region.
The exhibition points out that the future of the lake depends on us and its proper management affects the lake and the surrounding area.
